EPS / airpop® former Styropor

EPS – better known under the trade name “Styropor” – is often used as packaging material. The problem: EPS mainly consists out of air, thus causing a considerable logistic problem. More air than material is transported, thus high transport costs accrue and expensive storage space is wasted.

Our solution: The Strautmann briquetting press StyroPress helps to compact EPS moulded parts into briquets. The volume is reduced by 97%. That means that a truck can be charged with approx. 800kg of loose EPS – but up to 24 tons of briquettes. Thus, enormous logistics costs are saved and very high proceeds are achieved by selling this recyclable.
